An authentic village retreat in an exclusive setting
Everything begun when Antonis Eliopoulos, son of a notable shipping family had the bold idea to develop the family’s summer estate in Santorini into a luxury hotel, with the aspiration to offer guests the experience of the authentic side of the island that he had personally revealed and love.

Vedema Resort, located in the unspoiled village of Megalochori inspires guests to fully immerse into the simple, slow-paced life of the island and addresses to global explorers seeking to experience the island like locals do.
Remaining true to its promise to offer understated, yet transformative luxury, Vedema is the ultimate and authentic village retreat.

The art of winemaking
"Winemaking lies at the heart of the Vedema Resort. As its name is derived by the Venetian word for harvest, it is built on the spot which used to be the centre of local wine production in Megalochori. Surrounded by emerald vineyards, Vedema has graciously evolved from a 400-year-old winery into a luxurious resort, which consists of a complex of villas, cottage houses hand-crafted in the traditional style of the island.

Adjacent to the vineyards and part of a complex seamlessly integrated into one side of the village, they are built over and around the cellars. Each cellar has been restored and converted into Vedema’s beautiful restaurant of medieval feel, a private dining room for two, an art gallery and a wine tasting venue including a well-chosen selection of domestic, national and international wines. Guests can also enjoy an exceptional wine pairing menu offered by Alati Restaurant.
